The sebum is an essential element for the health and vitality of the hair. The sebum is secreted by sebaceous glands located under the scalp. It spreads along the piled follicles and lubricates hair and wraps it with a fine protective coating. The sebum also contributes in protecting the scalp from any microbes.

An insufficient production of sebum results in sensitizing the scalp which becomes a favorable ground for irritations and microbial infections. Hair becomes weak, dull and breakable.
